Frequently asked questions
What services does Obsidian Studio offer?
- Five disciplines: photoreal exterior and interior stills, architectural animation and flythroughs, and real-time interactive walkthroughs built in Unreal Engine — covering residential, commercial, hospitality, public and interactive work.
How much does a visualization project cost?
- Packages start from €1 200 for a single residential still and scale with project size and revision depth. See Services & Pricing for package details across residential, commercial, hospitality, public and interactive work, or request a custom quote for animation, VR or large series work.
What do you need from me to start a project?
- Send the real source files — CAD drawings, BIM models, or SketchUp/Revit files — rather than a summary of them. Site photos or a location plan help enormously wherever the building sits in a real context. Also tell us who the images are for, and bring references rather than adjectives.
How many revisions are included?
- It depends on the package — most include one to two revision rounds, with more for larger scopes. Revisions and deadlines are agreed up front before work begins.
What software do you use?
- Blender and Cycles for geometry and offline rendering, Unreal Engine for real-time work and film, Substance for our in-house PBR material library, generative AI tools for moodboards and set dressing, and Photoshop for final compositing and colour.
Do you work with clients outside Ukraine?
- Yes — Obsidian Studio is based in Lviv, Ukraine, and works with architects, designers and developers across Europe and worldwide.
How quickly do you respond to enquiries?
- We reply within 24 hours with thoughts, references and a starting quote — usually faster on weekdays.
Do you offer real-time or interactive walkthroughs?
- Yes — our Interactive discipline uses Unreal Engine for real-time, walkable experiences, letting stakeholders change finishes and toggle day/night on the spot, for sales floors, pitches and trade shows.
